Good morning Ms. Maralisia and Pastor Floyd,
Thank you for inviting our participation in the Come To The Table event this past weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed the conversations and the spirit of the event, both at dinner and during the panel. CTTT is a wonderful forum to foster strong relationships and connections across our community. We are glad to be in partnership with all of you.
As I mentioned to Maralisia at the event, here are a few of the resources referenced during the panel in case you'd like to include any of them in your follow up communication.
Immigrant Legal Resource Center - source of Know Your Rights trainings, place to order Red Cards, and additional resources on Family Preparedness Planning
Immigrant Rights & Justice Marin - coalition of local community groups and service providers coming together to meet the needs of Marin's immigrant community
Community Action Marin - information on an array of programs and services available (the majority regardless of immigration status) and how community members can connect with us.
Thank you for your good work!
In community,

Dinner and Conversation. 25 Marin City residents and 25 residents from other parts of Marin break bread together, fellowship, and develop friendships.
Housing Justice? Not For All!
Royce McLemore, Leah Rothstein, and Barbara Bogard discuss the struggle Marin City residents have fighting for housing justice. Despite it being in one of the wealthiest counties in the country, Marin City and it's residents continue to experience the racism that doesn't allow people of color to enjoy the benefits of acquiring generational wealth through home ownership. Instead, Marin County simply adds housing that they describe as "affordable" housing, but is not nearly affordable for most Marin City residents. .

Come to the Table inception. In November of 2023, Pastor Floyd Thompkins of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Marin City invited leaders of the faith community from all around Marin to join him in coming together to discuss ways that the residents of Marin City could be better served through our churches and places of worship. 33 leaders joined in the conversation and it was discovered that most leaders were not aware of the issues the small, tight-knit community faced on a daily basis. A steering committee was formed and Come to the Table and the Marin City News newsletter were born. Since March of 2024, we've covered topics on women in the workplace, arts and culture, the history of Marin City, health care disparities, the environment, and Marin City's history part II. We've had a celebration gospel concert and an awards presentation for all the guest speakers. The free monthly dinners and forums have been wildly successful. The residents of Marin and Marin City have been educated, but more importantly, they have formed bridge-building relationships.
